This is probably an obvious question for most of you, so here goes. Do Fieros use a pilot bearing? I am in the process of converting my Fiero to electric and working on getting the coupler between the electric motor and the transmission built correctly. Just need to know if I need a pilot bearing built into the coupler or if it sufficient to leave enough clearance for the output shaft from the transmission to clear the coupler. I've already sold my engine and it is already installed and running in another car (and running great). The car I have is a 1986 GT, 4-speed manual if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance!!

No pilot bearing used in a manual Fiero trans. The output shaft is supported by internal bearings.
