After removing my spoiler i shut the trunklid(?) and then hit the button only to see it fly up! I thought fo sure that it was going to fly over the car and land on the hood. How do i adjust the spring rate to keep this from happening?

One thing that is not made very clear in these threads is that to lessen the torsion springs strength, the pin should be moved toward the firewall, to strengthen the torsion move the pins to a hole farther away from the firewall. It takes all of about 10 minutes to do with a couple of ratchet straps per Buddy method, works perfectly.

Make use of your newly created catapult.... 1. Aim car at someone you don't like. 2. Place rotten tomato on deck lid. 3. Hit trunk popper button.
Thanks i'll try that, i know just the person! I didn't mention this before but the top of the trunklid has actually seperated from the bottom/underside and the underside now has stress cracks in it. I only opened it a few times as a catapult but apparenlty it was enough. so if you are goign to remove the spoiler, fix the springs FIRST. Live and learn.
