I must say that I am not a fan of giant wing stands. But, to each his own, and looks like you did a great job on yours. Very nice craftsmanship on your part. And welcome to the forum. Some great folks here. Nice looking car also.

jebus, how tall are those things?

edit: i keep looking at the angle on the wing, it looks like the fronts a bit higher then the rear? or is it just the angle the pic was taken?

Nice work, very nice.

Not exactly my cup of tea. But, hey, to each his own. What matters is if you are pleased with the results.

Your workmanship appeared to be outstanding of those photos you shared.

decided a while ago i wanted to put a cowl hood on my fiero. the donor cowl is from my oldsmobile 80 cutlass its a 4 inch. i picked up another hood from a friend so ill have the original if i want to switch again.

the donor

i had to shorten the cowl 5 inches to make it fit on the shorter fiero hood

used hot glue and wooden strips to make sure everything lined up while i put a layer of fiberglass on the inside

the thing in the background is the sub enclosure and speaker pod that goes in my fiero ill post some pics of it soon

riveted and put a good bit of fiberglass resin to hold everything in place

decided that a cowl on a rear engine car is only for looks i glassed the rear opening to clean everything up

made myself a sanding thingy out of a dowl some 3/4 inch foam from the fabric store and some spray adhesive. works amazing

after quite a bit of sanding

im hoping to finish the sanding and have it primed and painted by this weekend. hopefully.

Actually, that cowl would be a perfect extractor style vent for the radiator and front high pressure area. If I were you, I would have trimmed the opening underneath through the original hood above the radiator, and then left the back of the cowl open.
