I am planning on putting an Ecotec in my 88 with the F23 transaxle. I was happy that the stock axles would fit, but after sitting without a transmission for several years, the axles managed to fall in the dirt and the ends are all screwed up. Looks like I'm gonna have to replace them.

Should I buy another set of stock axles or do something else?

Did any F23 cars come with the jackshaft? Would using a jackshaft be of any real benefit?

Are there other options I am not thinking of?
