I am in the beginning stages of a 2.8 to 3.4 engine swap. The injectors from the 3.4L I sent in to have cleaned and pressure tested. I was informed that the injectors were not rebuildable. At this point I am looking into all my options.

I could have the original 2.8L injectors clean and use them, however I understand that the engine will run ok, however on the lean side causing extra heat.

I could find rebuilt 3.4L injectors, and use them, however they may cause flooding at idle. Ones I have been looking at are Accel 150617. I also noticed that the impedance of the 2.8 injectors is 15.5 ohms while the 3.4 injectors are 14.4. I assume the increase in electrical load is no issue for the ECM?

My goal with the car is to be a daily driver, so moderate performance and reasonable gas mileage are key, however I am very budget concious as well.

Curious what peoples opinions are? Thanks!

I purchased 19lb mustang injectors in excellent shape for $55 bucks. A great deal, and it will flow enough for the Truleo intake.

I've those 17-pound Accel injectors in my Fiero with a stock ECM. That car has a 3.4L engine swap and is my daily driver, so it has to start and run reliably, even at 15 degrees below zero (-26 Celsius). It does exactly that for me, so I think those injectors should work just fine with your 3.4L engine swap as well.

Good luck with your 3.4L!

The impedance difference won't matter. Close enough.

I've been looking for new 15 or 17 lb injectors and Summit at $232 seem to be the best price so far.

As for the 15's, they are smallish but someone could burn you a chip that will make them work for the 3.4L. On the other hand it's nice to have new injectors so when you are fighting problems you don't have to wonder if you have leaking or hanging injectors. I have a dribbling injector right now and it's annoying.
