I found a notchback with a crank back sliding sunroof in a local junkyard. It seems to slide all the way back onto the roof on a track Did they all come with this or is this rare and I should snag the whole mechanism?

Not factory, might be worth grabbing unless its one of those ugly porthole lookin ones.

Wow....It looks like the GT pop up style but it has a red fold out crank where the performance sound bezel usually is on the headliner. When you crank it, it pops up slightly and is driven by a worm gear. It slides along the top of the roof actually on the outside of the roof. I don't know how far you can open it but it is 100% intact right now.

Sounds like its worth grabbing, I want to mod mine so it slides back and out.
