Today my mini man cave was finished. I now have a big enough shed to set up my two engines and begin rebuilding them. However, before I can put them on my engine stands I need to know what size bolts I need to attach them to the stand. Obviously I can determine the length, but I need to know what thread size (spacing) and width /thickness (ex: 15mm etc.) of the bolts. The engines are the stock duke and 2.8. Any help would be appreciated.

Jim

Don't know about the Duke, but you need 12x1.5 bolts to mount the 2.8. The length will depend on your engine stand.

Umm are you sure its not 12X1.75? When we bolted my 3800SC up to the engine stand we used 12X1.75 and i belive 80-90mm in length. I just got a package of washers sized for the 12mm bolt and then put on how ever many washers i needed.

I stand corrected.

It is 12x1.75, just measured one of the bellhousing bolts.
