are the calipers and basket/holder parts [front duels] the same bits on vetts and the last F-body cars ?

do the 12'' and 13'' brakes use the same calipers [front duels] and baskets?
has anyone found a source for the basket/caliper holders
as junk vetts are few in local junkyards esp the cheaper pick and pulls yards

bump as nobody has answered this

1 are the calipers for the 12'' and 13'' vett brakes the same as the last F-body

2 will the basket/mounts for the front duel piston calipers on a F-body work with the vett disks and calipers

3 anyone know were to get the basket/mounts for the vet 13'' brake calipers

I have the disks [13''] and [6]calipers and 2 basket/mounts
I also have 2 single piston vett rear calipers but no basket/mounts
so I need to find at least 2 duel piston caliper baskets or 2 rear single basket / mounts

I need two basket/mounts for 13'' corvette disk brakes [front duel piston calipers]
the part that holds the caliper to the spindle
any one have the part number or a place to buy these?

questions are
are 12'' disk brake calipers and the 13'' the same?
and does the 199x to 200x F-body [firebird and camaro] cars use the same part?
for their 12'' front brakes at least as far as the basket/mounts part

as the F-cars are more common then the vetts esp in junk yards

Dual = two side by side.

Duel = a two man fight to rectify an insult or wrongdoing

The LS1 F-body calipers and C5 Corvette calipers are dimensionally identical. The F-body calipers are gravity cast, while the Y-body calipers are pressure cast and therefore stronger. The Y-body units also have "Corvette" on the sides, of course.

The 12" and 13" calipers are the same on the regular C5 corvette, you never specified if the one 's you have is for ZR1 or the lettered one or the PBR version.
The brackets are called " Abutement brackets" and here is what you are looking for on ebay pluse thes are very cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...dZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Wait a minnit.
Don't think C5's ever had 12" brakes and ZR1 was a C4 option.

Don't get C4's and C5's confused.

I was pretty sure the two did not use the same calipers.

The C5 had no 12" but a 13 "option but the C4 also had a 13" HD 2 piston caliper like the C5 ,the C5 13"rotor is thicker than the C4 13"
