Ive got a local guy offering me his pulled 3800 block for $50 It was knocking and they replaced the engine after 15 or so miles after the knocking I plan to rebuild it but.... is this engine compatable with the auto tranny from a gtp? I want to the automatic trans swap Will the engine work? Anything i should know? i mean $50 is a pretty good deal "the engine is block, heads, lower intake, intake plenum and water pump. the coolant bridge that the heater lines conntect to is gone, had to switch that to the replacement engine. also had to switch the oil filter mount from the other engine this engine does have an oil filter assembly on it."

You dont want that motor... It is a series2, but you would be better of finding something else to start with, that $50 block is a great deal for the guy selling it, and not so much for you, as it will cost you an arm and a leg to rebuild compared to a decent 100k motor.
