Since last year I get a code 45 while driving on the road. Could come out of nowhere. Mostly coasting with the cruise control on. Car starts good. Idles high about 2500 on start up. Spits and sputters after warm. On light throttle it sometimes acts like it wants to cut out. Shift into drive and reverse after warm and idle drops bad, wants to or will die. Things i've done:
unplug TCC- no change
rebuilt throttle body and fuel pressure regulator
wires and plugs are 2 years old
fuel filter about 1 year old
replaced O2 sensor 1 year ago
replaced coolent sensor with later year sensor(one without the round connector)
did a CS alt upgrade(better power now)
checked EGR and responds to vaccum, also cleaned carbon off
checked vaccum lines by spraying carb cleaner
How hard should the fuel be comming out of the injector? To me it sprays pretty hard, splashing up on the sides some. I tested the injector to see if it leaked while cranking but it wasn't. Checked the timing and was a little advanced. I corrected it now its made the problem worse to me.
What does a cracked pickup coil do?
Could my fuel pump be going out? Its done the sputtering problem for the 2 years I've had it. Everytime it dies I hear the fuel pump get louder. Relay is good. Thanks,
