I am finally getting things set for my Aurora V8 (series one) What is the best type of mounts to use. Are using tube and polybushing mounts like WAWUZAT used for his engine swap the best

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F...2/HTML/081971-4.html

or using Solid mounts. What are the advanges and disadvanges using the two styles?

Thanks
Tim

Huh?

I was trying to say the strain on the trans is much worse with solid mounts

If I am understanding the question and answer correctly I think what is trying to be said is that... If you use the solid mounts then the torque is applied allmost directly to the trans case, leading to grenading it. If you use the poly mounts, they are firm but allow the entire assembly (engine, transmission) to move enough that things to break due to stress fractures and that sort of wear. Because of the way engines and drivetrains vibrate as well as the way forces are applied they cannot be so rigidly mounted. Thats why you dont see day to day cars with the engine bolted directly to the frame.

just my .02
