Can anyone tell me if there is a seal behind the throw out bearing on the muncie 5 spd.

Yes, there is a seal. I think it may be part of the input shaft bearing (the 92-94's have the seal in the bearing).

There is a seal; it's part of the input shaft bearing / throwout bearing sleeve part. You have to split the case to remove it; it's pressed in pretty tight and it has to come out the bellhousing side.
