Anyone have a source for the litle motor that goes inside the mirror head?

FieroG97J,

I believe that you will be hard pressed to locate only the drive unit for the power mirrors. Your best bet will be to purchase the entire unit. For that you can try ebay, your local salvage yard, etc.

I had the same problem a while back and that was the course I had to take.

The whole mirror assembly is PRICEY and I like to fix things. Not too long ago there were no easy fixes for the headlight actuators. Pretty soon there were 5 different people making parts for them. That won't happen with the power mirror motors since they are electronically welded together, but I'm interested to see what the community will come up with on this one. The parts may be the same for Firebird, Camaro and Vette, but I don't know how to figure that out yet.
