How well will this turbo work on the 2.8? I want something that spools up fast and I don't really need it to pull much past 4000rpm. Thanks in advance!

It will work fine in that range, I take it you have a .42 compressor housing and .48 turbine housing which is the most common found around the salvage yard and on Ebay. That was my first turbo unit used on the 2.8L and I ran as high as 12 psi with an intercooler with rigged tuning as opposed to the chip programming easily available now. 7 psi will not be a problem with that model at all I have had several 2.8s powered by it. If you have an automatic transmission it probably will not last long. 3rd gear usually starts to slip away first.
