86 GT 4spd

while looking over my engine compartment for anything out of the ordinary, i found an extra plug hanging down by the transmission. it follows the same black plastic tube down to the speedometer plug on the transmission and just hangs there. What's this supposed to attach to? sorry i can't get a picture right now as i am at college and my car is at home. If memory serves me correctly it is a Green and Black wire going into a plastic plug

What you might be refering to is a plug for the neutral safety switch or backup light switch for an automatic trans. Alot of the wiring harnesses were made that way to make the assembly easier on the assembly line. I would not worry about it.
