On ebay one says it fits:
1/2 in.-20
3/8 in.-24
3/8 in.-16
5/16 in.-18
Will any of these work?

I know someone knows this, I have heard the Fiero Shifter knob thread size is uncommon, so I don't want to buy something that won't fit.

It has to be 16M x 1.5
Maybe bore out the knob that you want to fit above thread size.

Thanks!
Ok I get that inches vs. Metric bit what is "-18" for the inch ones, and "1.5" for metric, measuring?

16 millimeters and 1.5 thread rate. Nothing else works. Arn

Hey, Looks like stuff for a 3rd/4th gen f-body (82-02 camaro/firebird) would work but you should double check. HTH ~sam

5/16 in.-18 - 5/16 inch diameter shaft with 18 threads per inch.
M16 x 1.5 - 16mm diameter shaft with a 1.5 mm thread pitch.
4th Gen F-body shift knobs work. I have one in my Formula.

I actually was looking for a somewhat T shaped handle like the B&M ones or Hurst.

Heres what I sent him: > I was wondering where is a good place to look for Fiero Shift knobs, I was > hoping for a T handle type knob like the B&M ones, or a vertical one with > finger dips. I can't really afford to replace my shifter, but would really > like a better shift knob. 1986 Base model 5 speed.

I am wanting to get another rx8 shift knob like I had in my vette. I had to bore it out to fit the vette. I remember my fieros was unusually big. so I never got to fit my knob on. I have seen a thread on fitting a smaller diameter shaft onto the stock shifter. can't search for it since I'm online with my pda fone. cingy 8125....
