Getting more into the 3800SC series III swap we now need to address how we can adapt the Fiero shifter pattern to suit the 4T65eHD trans. The shift lever of the 4T65eHD works exactly in the reverse order of the lever used on the T-125H. It's not a simple matter of just turning the 4T65eHD lever around 180* as the crossover pipe will interfere with the shifter cable. It would appear that a custom bellcrank mechanism needs to be fabricated that will allow the Fiero shifter to work in reverse. Has anyone figured out an easy way to use the stock Fiero automatic shifter to work with the 4T65EHD trans? Any tips are much appreciated.

I just made a "C" shaped bracket that goes the other way, it sits really low, and needs the C shape to curve around the bolt there. The Fiero shifter itself actualy has a 4th detent below 1, so if you make it right, you can still manualy select every gear.

Mine only goes into the #2 position before hitting the exhaust, but it uses the same idea that 3.4dohc does.

So the part you made is the lever arm that attaches to the trans next to the black plastic box with the wiring connectors corect? And the other part that the cable goes through is from the stock Fiero trans? Somebody sells something like that on ebay?

I didnt even "make" the arm I just cut a "pizza slice" out of it and bent it over. but yes everything else is just fiero stuff, and the arm that i cut to bend came with the transmission.

I extended mine up to clear the exhaust and made a bracket to relocate the Fiero cable mount.

It took a little tinkering but I ended up with this.

I ended up with P-R-N-OD-3-2

I don't think I'll miss 1st as I won't be doing any towing.
