ok well those who have seen know where i am in my build. but for those of you who havent, well i got a bum 3.4 and found out after i installed it that the rod bearings and the mains are toast.

here are the mods

crane 272, truleo package, heavy port and polish, darrell morse 57mm, poerted lower intake mani, lt1 corvette 22lb injectors, troy's s7 chip (still needs tunning bad!) and 2.5 pipe to a flowtech afterburner crossover muffler (not connected in the vids)

here is the idle at around 900rpm. the smoke is from it running rich as a pig

this is one with the idle at around 1500 and a few little revs. sorry for the distortion, the exhaust is off after the cat right before the muffler.

I agree that those injectors sound a bit large. That engine sure sounds loud too. Here is my ARI 3.4 engine with the Ocelot exhaust and flow through cat to compare the sound with.

um, 22 lb injectors will only fuel up to 210 horsepower, so how are they a "little large"?

I'm using 38 lb/hr injectors on my turbo/3.4L build... I'm shooting for 350 horsepower...

Yea, 22# injectors are not too large as long as the chip is programmed for them. Just have to reduce the duty cycle over the stock 17# injectors or reduce fuel pressure.

Your 38# injectors are a bit small for 350 crank HP though. You are looking at over 90% duty cycle and upping the fuel pressure too just to get them to flow enough fuel at WOT.

* Brake specific should be .45 to .50 for naturally aspirated engines,
.55 TO .60 for supercharged engines,
and .60 to .65 for turbocharged engines.

Your BSFC is too low according to the chart for a turbo.

yea, I guess you're right, according to this formula, my injectors will only be good for 310bhp.

We'll see what happens.

although, can't you just raise the fuel pressure and drop the required size of your injectors??

If I use the same formula as above, but with a higher fuel pressure, my 38 lb/hr injectors would work fine for my desired HP.

If you upgrade the fuel system enough, it'd be easy to run 55psi

I agree, just use an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You could also use a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator as long as you tune ignition retard into your ECM.

Tuff break, but I guess you know you should always check the bearings....well now you know. I like the way your engine sounds.

The 2nd one sounds too tame for me...I gotta have somthin that makes people think twice.

And what's up with the sissy revs.

This is mine 3.2L, Comp Cams 260, Gutted Ex. Manifolds and Y pipe, custom Borla XR1 exhaust, Dual TB intake "The Enterprise", Ported LIM.

It's alright I want way more. I ran a 100 shot before my dual TB intake and gutting the y pipe. Now I have a custom dual port n2o system and mini FJO nitrous controller, but they aren't hooked up yet. I plan on a 100, maybe a 125 or 150 shot.
