Ok back to wheels somewhat again. This is what I'm looking into doing for my 88 Formula. Keep in mind I have both front and rear coilovers. Let me know if these sizes of rims and tires will fit.

Size: 18" x 8.0" (This would go on the front, with a 225/40/18)
Pattern: 5x100
Offset: +38

Size: 18" x 8.0" or 18" x 9.0"" (This would go on the back, with either a 245/255/265/275 40/18 whichever would fit easiest) I would like the 18x9 but they are backordered for 4-6 weeks. Let me know on the biggest tire I can fit on a 8" rim.
Pattern: 5x100
Offset: +38 I believe, will double check.

Thanks!
Amir

Wait until the 18x9's come in & then you can get the 275's and 235's up front. Trust me, you want regret it.

Alternative sizes: 225 up front but I'd go 235's. Rears, depending on the tire company (BF Goodrich) a 265 can work since the BF's run a litle bit fatter. Chech out Chester's Dirt Rat. He's running the same Tire's ONLY IN 19'S.

Okay, so the offset is fine then? I just wanted to make sure it would look good all the way around.

Well, if the rims are only offered in limited offsets, then Yes. 38mm off set is fine, especially on a 88.

I don't think 38 is high enough offset on an 88 especially with an 8" wide rim. However, I hate to speak up opposed to Madcurl, cause he is the expert when it comes to rims, so I defer to him.

I'm nobody of importants, but thanks for the comment. However, you're correct, a 40mm would be a better fit for the fronts vs. a 38mm to prevent the tire/rim from sticking out. However as I mentioned...if the rims mentioned are available in various off-set sizes? This one one of the major issues when buying rims off the shelf plus some companies do not like to split they're sets.

What would a good offset be for the front and rears. Assuming I'm going to run 225's in the front and 275 in the back. If I stick to the 18x8's all the way around. Will a 215/40/18 tuck it in the front and a 265/40/18 tuck it in the back? I dont want the front or back to stick out at all. Let me know what you think so I can maybe ask them if they have a different offset.

Really? Even on an 88 with a 8 inch wide rim? I thought the 88's came with a 6 inch wide rim with a pretty high offset (I cannot remember the number). I would think you would have problems with a 2 inch wider rim?

Sorry, I see I am not helping and probably just making things worse, but I was 80% sure that 8 inch at +38 would stick out significantly in the front.

215 is to small of a tire for the 8 inch wheel, if you had a 7 in wheel then no problem. I would not go any wider then a 265-40-18 on the rear. Lowfiero has 265-40-18 on the rear of the convertible and if you drop it to low it will rub really bad. The 265-40-18 rubbed. You might be able to go with a 275-35-18. He had 215-40-18 with a 7 inch wheel on the front that did not stick out. The wheels where Enkei 18" RS5

Some times, " a picture(s) are worth a thousands words."

18x7/18x9

Example B:
18x8 up front and 18x9 rear 38 offsets with 225/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear running on Falkens K451's.
