You need the VSS signal to the ECM or the car will stall when you come to a stop. The computer must know what speed you are doing so it can manage the fuel input. Read this:

Also the 5 speed only puts out 4000 pulses per mile and a stock Caddy computer is programed at a higher number. There are some members of the forum that may be able to reprogram the chip for you.
