I have a 1985 GT and I am wanting to put a turbo on it. What size turbo should I go with? I mainly do driving around town. (this is also my first post)

Let me be the first to welcome you. Turbos are pretty popular here, especially with the 2.8-3.1 and 3.4 crowd. Please do a search and you will not only find lots of information but also lots of pics.
Rotrex Fiero your car is very nice. I wish i could afford something like that right now but as a college student those are dreams for now. From what I see just browsing around are T3 and T4 turbos decently good?

Have you already purchased a kit. If not, I am selling mine. My previous deal feel through when the buyer couldn't afford the kit. If you're interested, e-mail me at ShawnPitman@gmail.com
I'll send you pictures, and the specs of the system. This is a complete system, including a T3 turbo with less than 2k miles on it.

I am thinking about not going with the turbo and maybe dropping in a 3800 series supercharged engine in instead. What kind of results would I be getting compared to the turbo?

If you are looking into a 3800 swap, check out my thread, it will answer a lot of questions for you, and it will tell you if it is the right choice for you. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/068188.html
Obviosly I am kinda bias, but I would do the 3800, it think it will also be cheaper too.

If you go with a turbo do it with an intercooler or dont bother. I know a lot of guys dont use them, but if you look at most turbo cars done by the OEMs they have intercoolers and if anyone trys to save money they do. If they're spending for them that tells you lot. Turbos make the air real hot and negate much of the effectivenss of the turbo without an intercooler. BTW: how much HP are you looking for? They're are other options that are a lot easier to do than an engine swop or turbo install. And I do recommend getting a turbo kit make for the Fiero, to scratch do a setup is not for a newbee or someone without a lot of experience.

I have already purchased a stock intercooler out of a 97 Eclipse that im hoping to squeeze in back there near the CAI, I figured that fieros run hot enough as it is, without an intercooler would really give me good reason to carry that fire ext.

Put a fan with it. I put mine where the driver's side engine vent was with a fan underneath and put a rear facing scoop on the engine deck lid with a thremo control fan to extract under hood heat. As it turned out, what with the thermo blanket on the turbo and the intercooler fan also blowing some at the turbo and my heat wraped headers it never really gets hot at all under the hood. Also if your engine has some miles on it, I'd replace your main and rod bearings before you get on that turbo. Good luck, I think we have a picture of my Fiero setup on our website (trueleo.com), though it has the older more busy looking intake manifold.
