Changed plugs and wires today on my 88 GT. Ran the car to check timing, everything fine. !5 mins later got in to run to the store and the temp gauge is pegged! The motor is not hot and the radiator is cold. Opened up the filler tube on the motor, no problem, barely warm. I must have pushed a wire when changing the plugs and grounded it somewhere. As you all know it"s pretty much impossible to see down the engine on the firewall side. Any tips on where this thing might be grounded and where the engine sensor is located would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Try tapping on your dash......making the needle drop

more them likely, the two connections on the switch (plug) are touching each other
or you broke off one of the connections??

I couldn't resist one more look. The heat shield for the coil was pushing against the connector for the temp sensor, I took apair of pliers to it, bent it back a little bit, problem solved. I had the coil and the shield off when adjusting the timing, must have gotten it a little off when replacing. Thanks again for that diagram, BIG help.
