hi guys
been looking for a long while for a pump to do a rack swap.
found one that says 1994 HYUNDAI SCOOP 12V POWER STEERING PUMP
bought it cheep ,arrived today and its belt drive
am i the only guy that thinks that 12v would be electrical !!!
any suggestions other than ebay?

When it comes to Euro cars, I'm betting that the seller meant 12V for 12 Valve. Many Hyundai's etc are listed as 16V , 8V and I think the 6cyl was a standard 2 valve per cylinder engine ( or 12V.) . I'm not sure if the Scoupe had the 6 cyl. but I think it did have a 3 valve per cylinder 4 banger. (Don't really know anyting about the cars)

Ps my Jaguar V-12 is a 24 valve so I'll need 2 of those pumps!!!!!

Doubt it - the water pump only needs to generate a fairly low pressure, so it's total power requirements are pretty low.

Buddy and I hooked up a 1/2HP 120V motor to his P/S pump once (didn't have the engine in, and we wanted to bleed the hydraulics). Wheels straight, everything worked great. He moved the wheel a couple degrees, and the pump tried to take so much power that it STALLED the big ass electric motor!!!

just got reply from seller..is right pump is 12 valve.. off to scrap pile!!!!
anyone got access to mr2 or suburu parts? or anything else that would work.

thanx guy ..been looking for one for 2-3 mo now
nothing on ebay some citron or vauxall in europe
any wrecking yards that i call dont know what im talking about .
are there sites in washington /oregon /cal that specialize in these?? (canada would be even better)
