What is the paint code (and color name) for the paint on the 2.8 engine? Or what is close enough to be a close match?

I have a plastic EGR cover that I want to spray paint the same color as my stock engine.

Help on this is appreciated..........

I've only looked into the powdercoat colors, it's Vermillion out of the Eastwood powdercoat catalog.

Bear in mind that the paint will need to be a fairly high temperature rating.

Duplicolor makes Chrysler Red that is almost an exact match. You can get it for about $5 a can at probably any store that sells Duplicolor engine paint (Advance, Autozone, etc.).

Since it's a Chevrolet engine, maybe the color is closer to the readily available Chevy Orange sold in all auto stores?? Ed

The orange matches the faded paint. The Chrysler Red is much closer to how it was from the factory.

Here is my intake and valve covers with the Chrysler Red and a coat or 2 of the Duplicolor Clear.

OK, so here's what I ended up with. This color is Vermillion obtained from the Space Age auto paint store on Country Club in Mesa AZ. The folks at Eastwood were able to give me a trade name (One Shot) for a line of pre-mixed enamels that I could find locally in the Phoenix area. It was $14 for a 1/2 pint. I thinned it with a high temp rated thinner and sprayed on a few coats.

Previously, before posting my question, I had sprayed on the hi-temp Chrysler Red from a rattle can, but it was too red relative to my engine. The Vermillion is less red and more orange than the Chrysler Red. And -- to my eye -- is more pleasing.

Thanks for the leads on the paint colors.

When I 'touched up' the plenum on my 28K 85GT, I used the Chrysler Industrial Red from Duplicolor and it was an exact match.
