you shift out of 1st gear at around 35 mph, how's that BARELy get you across the intersection? thats more liek moving across the intersection at a good pace, buddy.
you will find that the highest geared 4 speed is the econo 4 speed on '84 fiero coupes , but they are hard to come by. MOST of the '84 fieros use a performance 4 speed, which even worse than the '85's 1st gear. however, i dont think you will find the 1st gear on the econo 4 speed to be any better than the one on the '85 GT. the overall ratio for the '85GT's 1st gear is 12.08:1, and the econo 4 speed's overall 1st gear is 11.72:1... not much fo a difference..
