Hi guys, we just got done swapping a 2.8 motor from an 85GT to an 86SE (I know, should have stuck with the GT, but the SE is in great shape unlike the GT)

Now, the car can't find Park, how do you adjust the shifter cable?
It seems like it finds all the other gears no problem, but park is just a bit off.

Can you help? I tried doing a search with no luck, and frankly, I'm asking you guys because I don't feel like digging through the manual to find it in there. But, if I must........

is the problem with park that it doesnt go into park properly, or that the start safety switch doesnt activate?
well, either way - the adjustment is at the transmission itself. the easy way to see what to do is to have one person in the car, go thru the shifts, while the other person watches the shift lever on the trans. then, with it in park, loosen the nut, and move the lever to where you guess park to be, and tighten the nut again. if ya went the wrong way, just do it again - adjusting the other way. should be pretty easy once you see it.
