The dist cap is numbered right by the wire posts and the firing order is stamped into the intake manifold right by the dist. 18436572.

That is the way I wired it but it is poping and back fireing. Gotta recheck everything.

You probably did what I did.... did it backwards.

The thing has counterclockwise rotation! Backwards from a Fiero (etc).
(and of course, make sure you got #1 in the right place)

Do the wires on the distributer cap go 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 starting at one in counter clockwise direction or are they mixed up? Because I dont think the numbers where in order.

The wires go around the distributor cap in firing order. Not 12345.....
