That is the old V6 from the Front motor/Rear wheel drive unit. it is the same motor as the 3.8 Buick GN Turbo motor. It will not fit a Fiero Tranny.

lol, these guys beat me too it, bottom line, if it has a fan on the front of the water pump, its RWD and wont work. But not neccesarily true for all motors, some RWD have electric fans too, buta good base line for next time

So how much is it for the v 8 adaptor? will that work for this engine? I really wanted this because it had a carb and I didn't want to mess with wireing to much

It's not the adapter that will be the problem, It's the flywheel. The V-8 kits available (they range from $500-$1000 for a basic kit.) come with a custom flywheel due to the thickness of the adapter plate. The V-8 flywheel will not bolt to the 3.8L you have. Hence you will need to have one custom made. It would be cheaper to buy a FWD 3.8L/3800 and make it carb'd.

ha and I dont have a clue how to switch an engine from being fuel injection to haveing a carb
If you are not comfortable switching one from injection to carburation, stay far away from trying to do this conversion. It requires far less technical knowledge to swap to a carb than to fabricate a conversion.
Getting the engine to sit in the hole is easy, hooking everything up properly is what takes a lot of time and knowledge.

I can read instructions and get something done have all the time in the world and there is a lot of information on this forum I've changed out several motors before but never a custom application so this is new to me but I have faith that the members of the forum will assist with there infinite wisdom. I have never seen a writeup on changing from fuel injection to carbed ever never even owned a car without fuel injection. I just don't want to have to mess with the ecm and wireing if I have to I will though. I am bidding on the proper engine now its another 3800 series 1 I think if anybody is intrested in helping me with this swap I would be more then willing to pay someone for there time.
