I'm looking to get some new seats in my '86 coupe. Anyone know the height, width, depth, etc. of the originals?
How much bigger / smaller can they go and still fit nice?
Thanks!

If you do a search you'll find a lot of info and probably pics on other seats that members have put in their fieros. I have seats from an 88 starion and I love them - they have side bolster and lumber adjustments ....

It looks like the original dimensions are: 20" wide, 23" deep, and 31" high. (Thanks Avengador1, + for you there!).

PaulJK, do you have any pics of your Starion seats?

Whatever you end up getting, tey to make sure it is as close to the width dimension as possible. The seats I put in my car are 1/2 inch wider than the stock seats and they rub the center console a bit, but the factory seats did too. You don't want to go too much wider or they won't fit. You also need to make sure the new seats aren't too high or they may hit the roof. My new seats are about 3 inches taller than the stock seats and only have about 3 or 4 inches of clearance from the roof. If you use the new seat rails that come with the new seats, they will sit about 1 inch lower. There also are other things you can do to get the seats even lower, but these are involved.

don't forget to take ths houlder width into account - the pillar slopes quite a bit there and may not allow some seats to fit
