I need a new clutch slav/master cylinder. While looking at parts, I've come to realize the local parts store only has an 11/16" bore. The slave I bought is a 15/16" however. Is this going to work?

It is a 5spd getrag. Thanks in advance

Reported earlier in PFF, clutch master cylinder bore for all Fieros is ø 11/16" or .6875"

BTW, I measured the bore of the master cylinder from a 1988 Coupe (4 cylinder) and it showed ø.700"

Slave cylinder diameters (reported earlier, here on Pennock's):
--Isuzu (used on 4-cylinder Fieros): ø 13/16" or .8125"
--Getrag (used on V6 Fieros): ø 15/16" or .9375"

Hope this info helps you

Can anyone verify the GM part # for the 88 Getrag V6 Master?

I have # 10079730... is this correct?

According to the P-book, the clutch master is P/N 10079730 for all '87 and '88.

Thanks Mark.

Still available and just ordered one from GM parts direct.

I'm flushing the line and putting on a new GM master & GM slave.

After reading the horror stories over the years I'm not playing around.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it:
- The brake system on 88's are unique to that year, including the master cylinder, rotors, and pads.
- The 88 master cylinder has a smaller bore (0.985") than the pre-88 units (1.0").

Also, can someong verify that the 10079730 number is valid for 88? What page of the "P-book" is that on?

Edit: The number I found in my P22 manual is 18014638.

The AC Delco number is 385096 and they show it to be the same 85 thru 88.

This thread is referring to CLUTCH master and slave cylinders, not brakes...
