Yeah... prying the stupid thing out, I managed to bust out my whole window.. no idea how I did it either

Now, replacing the window, and continue fixiiing the lock or replace the whole damn door? 100$ will buy me a black power door for my car in good condition, and I suppose I could just replace the black panels with my silver ones and it'd all be skippy right?

Or would replacing the glass be a better choice?

replacing the door is 100X easier.

takes me about an hour to replace a door, and change the skin.

the glass is about the same amount of time, BUT you have to drill out the rivits, then put new bolts or rivits in.

It would be a real good idea to replace the lock while you have the skin off.

as long as the door is from a fiero of matching year (84's skin being different)
then door is probably easier - I've removed the metal hanger strip from an 86 door and screwed it to an 84 door to use the 86 doorskin and latch on an 84 frame.. worked like a charm

Yep, glass is easy.

Use 1/4" bolts with nylon locknuts in place of the rivets that originally held the glass in.

The two links in my sig will help if you haven't had a door apart before.

Was this "rivited" glass thing common back then? It was a major pain in the butt getting my glass out, the first time I did it...(My teeth STILL hurt)

It just seems like a pain in the butt to replace.

Thanks for the links to the outer doorskin removal...I need to do my dew wipes myself and wondered how the outer doorhandle was attached. ;-)
