Can I use a headlight control module from a 87 firebird TransAm in place of the orginal fiero one. I thought I read they were identical but them found a thread that said you had to re-wire the fiero plug to make it work. I didn't want to get everything taken out and then find it would not work. Any help would be appreciated'

Rewiring I think is only an issue for converting older cars to the later system. Some of those motors are wired run the oposite direction due to how they are placed in the car. Far as I know all the modules are the same.

from my experiance, the firebird headlight motor plugs do not fit the fiero headlight motor plugs. I know this to be true for the pre 87 models, but have not compared the new style.

I have a 91 Firebird headlight control module here, it has the same GM part number as the Fiero one. I believe the Sunbird uses the same module also.

The headlamp module, p/n 16523917 was also used in Corvettes and is still being installed on current models.

He means just the Gen 2 control module... not all the other wiring.

As far as I know all modules are the same.

before you dig out the module read in my cave... A motor that won't open can easily be the motor binding just a hair more than it should.
