The local junk yard has a 4.9 valve cover,(oil fill side)...for $20 I was going to swap the one I have over if it will work but can I have one on both sides?I know the back may be hard to see but for the price? I would have a matching pair. Will it work or will it not clear somewhere?
Thanks,Paul

Yes, you can have an oil fill on both sides. You need to be a bit creative to duct the air into crankcase inlet side that goes into the carb bonnett, but other than that it just bolts right on.

20 bucks for a valve cover is legal robbery. Maybe a 5 buck item....Haggle a little.

I always thought this place was HIGH....

I hate to support a car place that rips car guys off....

So does anybody have one to offer?

The covers are about $65 new from GM. They're cast and finned with engraving on them. If I hadn't already had 2, I'd have paid the $20 for one.
