I took some time today to try to find some more information on T-top seals. I have looked at this and made several calls in the last few years. Today I called SoftSeal. In talking to ASC Inalfa a while back they sent me on to Green Country Sales. ASC Inalfa bought Cars and Concepts if I remember right. All they could tell me is that the seals were made in Canada originally. Talking to the guy at SoftSeal he said maybe StanPro in Canada made them. From doing a web search StanPro seems to be a large corporation. I did not do much in looking for any company information on them. My quest is that if we can locate the original dies new gaskets could be remade. In talking to SoftSeal the demand is too low that they would probably never make them. It costs a lot to make new dies. My idea was to try and find the company that made them to see if they still have the dies. StanPro maybe did not make them but if we do enough looking and asking around in time we may be able to locate the company that did. The guy at SoftSeal did not know of any other Canadian manufacturer but if we do enough digging and asking around in time we could maybe find the original manufacturer. If we could make some contacts at StanPro they know who their competitors in Canada are that would have made these types of seals and hopefully they would tell us their names and we would continue to search. Looking for a group effort. I do not own a T-top Fiero but if this never gets done many T-top Fiero's will be doomed to a slow death as the original gaskets deteriorate.

Thank you

Rodney,

Get ahold of Tim at fieroparts.com

I believe he is the one that bought the remaining inventory of t-top parts and supplies from the manufacture.

Does anyone have a piece of an old T-top seal? Like an old cross section piece or something?

Another thing to remember is that the Daytona and the Mustang use a very similar weatherstripping. So maybe a company would be interested in producing these based on the larger market?

Just a thought

With weatherseals, close isn't good enough. I wish it were! Since a Fiero seal is not 100% identical to a Daytona seal, the two can't be combined to increase market size and make reproducing them more feasible. Since they are two separate and distinct seals (albeit very close to each other) any company looking to make these seals must take them into account as two separate markets.

If we were talking about p-seals then you are correct......the Fiero, Daytona and Mustang used the same exact p-seals, only they were cut slightly differently for each application (all are still interchangeable though).

As far as Tim goes......he did buy out C&C, but that did not include any dies for these seals. Believe me......if he had the dies, he would have already been making new seals!

The only company that matters is the company that has the original dies if they still even exist. Period.
