I have just picked up my second Fiero in two weeks. This is a 87 4cyl. The owener did not have any keys. What is the best way to open the rear hatch with out keys? This car is going to be a parts car. I don't want to destroy any useable parts.

If it has the power release for the decklid use that. You could take a drill and drill out the tumblers in the lock, then use a screwdriver to open it. This will only damage the lock.

I bought an 87 Fiero without keys. I took the title, because it has the vehicle identification numbers on it, to a GM dealer. GM keeps records on this and they were able to cut me a new key based on their code. The only time you run into a problem is when the lockset was replaced.
