I think that my tone generator box(the one that tells you the key is in the switch, etc) is on the fritz. It stopped working today. Now it's bothering that is does NOT come on since I have become accustomed to hearing it all of these years.

I'm going to open the dash and clean and test it as soon as I can, but in the meantime, if it turns out to be bad, what other, what GM calls "alarm generator" boxes would would with it, or will any? Could one be gleened from another model car? The junkyard that I go to usually does not have any Fieros, but plenty of every other car. Go figure.

Has anyone had any luck changing one out?

You should be able to use one from any GM vehicle that has the same number of pins and the same pin pattern.Remember that the older the vehicle you get it from the cheeper it will sound......Buzzzzzzzzzzz.Get one from as new a vehicle as you can.
