In a few weeks I'll have a new product out for those of you with the Getrag 5 speeds. As many of you may know I offer the Ultimate shift kit for the Getrag 5 speeds. It is a much shorter shifting arm and a new shift/slave bracket that has a shorter cable attach arm for the cable to match the shorter shifting arm. This keeps the shifting cable in line with the shifting arm or the cable would be at an angle. Shift cables are designed with the ability to work at a slight angle. My new Getrag Quick Shift arm will take advantage of that. It is a shifting arm that is shorter than stock but not quite half as short as my Ultimate Shift arm. This means you be able to retain the factory aluminum shift/slave arm and just change the shift arm. Quick and very easy to install. You will not see as short of throw reduction as the Ultimate Shift kit but this Quick Shift Arm will be very reasonably priced and can be installed in a few minutes.

Will the factory knob fit this new shifter? I am looking to change mine and the boot once it gets warm.

Will this be better than the Ultimate shift kit, or kinda of an in between product from factory and the ultimate kit.

One thing with the ultimate shift kit would be some kinda of instructions on which way to put them on.

Will this affect the shift effort needed? or will it be barely noticeable?

2.8 4spd, not the duke 4spd to be specific. Or are they the same thing? I don't think so...

Sounds kind of like an in between product. I'm always happy to have more options thanks Rodney. But I already have the Ultimate Getrag shift kit and wouldn't go any other way. I'd like the shifts even shorter if that's possible

I got your sports shifter last week, you'll remember me calling about stabbing myself with a rusty screwdriver

Can't wait to get this new product!

This is an in between arm. Almost half way in between the stock shift arm and my Ultimate shift arm. The shifts will not be as short but it is very easy to install and reasonably priced.

Unfortunatly this will not work with the 4 speeds or the Isuzu 5 speeds. The way their ahift arms are designed does not allow a new shorter arm. I have spent some time on a new part for the shifter to make the shifts shorter but I've never finished it. I should spend some time on that again. That would probably only fit the Isuzu and the Getrag shifters.

I have Rodneys ultimate shift kit and a really short shifter.

It is still easy to pull, great quality and a blast to drive.

With the stock s/c 3800 it really chirps into second!!!!

Thanks again Rodney!

Rodney, you made a 'Fieuro' improved shifter arm. For those of us who remember this accessory, it was a gated 5-speed shifter arm. I'd love to convert my soon-to-be aquired (Isuzu) 5-speed over to classy Italian styling but it is no longer available. I'd love to see Rodney sell the complete gated conversion!

Or a redesigned gated shifter that actually has the shift lever move INTO the gates. Maybe not possible with the stock height console, though, since the pivot is so close to the console top.
