I was looking under the dash of my car, on the drivers side and I noticed this little flip switch.

Does anyone know what it is for ?

The automatic ejection seat switch. This causes the passenger seat to eject through the sun roof.

Someone may have installed a fuel pump shutoff switch for security reasons. I have bought 2 vehicles so far that had it done. Flip it, see what happens.

its prob the valet switch for an alarm. that is more likely than a fuel pump switch.

It stays flipped unless I flip it back. it's not spring loaded.

Its an aftermarket switch, it could go to anything, like it was said you need to follow the wires.

Very interesting, hmmmm.

So if you start the car and flip the switch nothing happens?

Yep, follow the wires.

Gotta good laugh on the China light joke, funny.

When I bought my 87 it had an identical switch in almost the same place. It was for the alarm which didn't work very well. The first thing I did to the car was remove the system. I left the switch in place and cut the wires. Later when I got tired of the "What does that switch do" questions I removed the switch too.
