Well I'm getting closer and closer to doing my swap every day. I'm going with a Izusu 5-speed trans in my little car so CLUTCH TIME. 8 1/2 is way too small, 9 1/8 is better. how about 9 11/16? I'm thinking about useing a 9 11/16 1x14 disc out of q 83/84 camaro. 2.8 5-speed and a 94 3.4 pressure plate out of a camaro? any thoughts ?-B-

What I and many others have done is use a cavalier Z-24 flywheel and matching clutch. Holds up just fine and are cheap to replace. Remember when you use another clutch you have to use an isuzu 5 speed throwout bearing.

Bubbajoe, the grandfather of this swap uses cav clutches, and stevenrossi also uses one with no problems.

Hope this helps

the 9 1/8 is listed as a 232 mm disc (S stock fiero). the 9 11/16 is listed as a 246 mm disc (83/84 camaro v-6 5-speed) should hold better than the stock fiero. will let everyone know how it works out.-B-

I'll second the Cav clutch as thats what I used as well. Either go with the 170$ cav clutch or go with the 400$ Archie kevlar clutch. I'm happy with the cavelier clutch and it holds great.

We used a clutch from the Fiero Store the 86-88 5spd 9 3/4" HD CLUTCH KIT. It has given us no problems. We used a flywheel from a Beretta that we had plugged and redrilled to fit the 4.9. We are using a 5 Speed Getrag tranny though. As was mentioned before make sure you get the correct throw out bearing.
Good Luck
