I recently took out the cradle on my 87GT. On one of the rear bolts, the welded nut came loose so I had to cut it off to get the cradle out. I was wondering how other people have fixed this problem when putting the cradle back in. Somehow I will also have to find another blot to replace the one I cut as well. Thanks

The typical repair for this is to cut a hole in the frame rail, weld in another nut the weld the piece you cut out back in.
A friend had the same problem and he cut the hole to the same size as the triangle shaped hole to access the dogbone bolt.
Then after he re-welded a new nut he just covered the hole by using silicone and the same plastic cover that covers the dogbone access hole. This way if it ever happens again, he can just pry off the plastic cover.

When i changed my trans, i stripped one of the rear cradle bolts. I ended up cutting a hole in the frame to insert a new one which i made out of a piece of flat stock steel, drilled a hole in it, and welded a nut for it. I bought everything at Lowe's for about $3. Then after everything was bolted back up, i welded the bolt assembly i made to the frame, then welded a patch over the hole i had to cut.
