I start mine and I go. Usually less than 10 seconds from ignition to putting it in first and releasing the clutch. In really cold weather I'll let it warm for 20-30 seconds and then take off. I'm pretty light on the throttle, and keep it below 3.5K rpm for the first couple of miles.
