I bought an 84 2M4 last year that I am rebuilding. It came with the center vent grill and that butt ugly luggage rack / spoiler mistake. I found a decklid on a 85 2M4 that is in pristine condition. It has no vents, no spoiler no nothing - which is why i like it. It has a raised center hump section where the air vent would normally be. I,ve never seen this before - anyone out there know why this is?? I picked up 2 corner vent grills to replace the solid corner panels that came with the car, so if the lid fits, I should be ok for ventilation. So what do you guys think, can I swap the decklids??
Thanx

very easy.there's 2 bolts on each side of the deck lid.undo them and it comes right off.before you tighten down the new one line it up good.

Sure. it'll fit fine. The hump was to clear the V-6.

BTW: don't forget to swap the lock mech before you close the new one

Your decklid with the vent was only used on 84s.

All 85-88 Nochbacks have the one with the "hump" and will fit 84s, you should also swap the black covers that you have with the vents that go on either side of the deck lid.

86-88 GTs had a different decklid that will only fit Fastbacks
