I am getting ready to put some 17" wheels on my 88GT and need some good overall alignment specs for street use. I have 2 88Gt's and I am not happy with the alignment on either one. One has a tendency for understeer during hard cornering but is really stable a high speeds. The other is much more responsive and more neutral but is hard to keep in a straight line at high speeds. I would like something in between the two. Any suggestions?, Thanks Robert

Welcome to the forum! There's a search feature that will help you find most anyting you can imagine. There's been a LOT of discussion about alignment settings over the years. Here's a few links I found in a quick search.

I believe this is a correct quote from the shop manual, but the manual has a typo itself. Shouldn't that be +/- 0.5 deg.?

No it is not a misprint. It is talking about the position of the steering wheel. If you put a large degree wheel on the steering wheels. The +/- 5 degrees is close enough for alignment purposes. It means to position the steering wheel by hand or quess work to be straight. The rack inside bushings tolerances are within +/- 2 degrees to it does not matter.
