I need to replace my heater core on the 86 GT 3.4 with AC but I was wondering;
the Pep Boys core is 49.99
the Advanced Auto is also 49.99
the Autozone is 29.99
This is a 20.00 difference. Anyone had bad experience with the ones they sell at Autozone?? Anyone know if there is a difference in quality??

Thanks Jeff

Just for grins, look and see if there is a Modine distributor in your area. I've heard that Modine builds radiators and heater cores for the manufacturers.
I paid ~$29 for a heater core for the Fiero, and ~$145 for a radiator for my wifes Jeep.

Modine has been making cooling system parts for the car makers for a long time. (There is a recent press release that they are now building for BWM.) There are only a few big cooling system parts makers in North America.

Modine is avaiable thru allot of parts stores. I think they also get rebranded by NAPA and a couple others. I'm not sure exactly who the rebrands are.

I payed about $50-55 for the Modine one I bought a couple years ago.

The ones I see on the Autozone site are from GDI (GoDan/Transpro). I have never dealt with their aftermarket parts.

www.partsamerica.com has the same GDI(Go/Dan) heater cores for $69.99(AC) and $41.99(non-AC) that are sold at www.autozone.com for less.
