Hello,

I need some help.

I need to know if I can use this frame of a 1987 Fiero /see photo/

I´t is for a 3.4L V6 pushrod engine.
Do I need to make some mods?
Or can I use the orginal mounts to place the engine?

If you have a picture of mods, please mail them or put in this topic.

Thanks

Stan

Why not?

Of course, both items need to be inspected, detected, cleaned and refurbished.

Hoi Stan,
Maybe you should mention it is a 87 cradle for a 88 Fiero (?)....

I think the 88 cradle is different so you likely have to swap suspensionparts too. the 3.4 should bolt up to the 2.8 mounts with no mods (if I am right). Starter has to be moved. I guess it will take more time to adapt the 87 cradle then the downtime of your Fiero when you have to switch engines on the 88 cradle...

(I might be interested in the cradle if you are not going to use it. I have a 87GT and also looking for a spare cradle for a swap)

87 cradle should fit an 87 Fiero If it had a V6 before you can use the mounts too. Check the rubber mounts for cracks, clean and paint the frame and just use it!

Just remove the bushings, strip the cradle, run a wire wheel across it, coat it with POR-15 and that's it. The 3.4L will use exsisting mounts, I'm not sure which trans that is, But if it's a Fiero trans (4-spd muncie, 5-spd Isuzu, or 5-spd Getrag) It'll bolt up fine.
