Just installed a new alternator and car runs fine. Headlights don't flicker anymore and lights are steady. However! In the morning I start it up and the check engine light is on for about 10 minutes and then goes out. I stop for coffee at about 15minute mark and check the codes.
12,12,12,53,53,53,12,12.....
I looked it up in Chiltons and they don't even list a code 53.
Haynes says that it's overvoltage for more than 15 seconds (V6 cars only)!!!!
This is an 1988 L4 Cyl.
Anyone know what this means???
