I'm getting close to putting the motor back in my car and the wiring harness on the donor motor was for an automatic, I mated it to a 4 speed. Needless to say, I have an extra electrical connection that used to conect to the auto tranny hanging loose.
I know that in order for this to work, I have to jumper a wire on the main connector block on the wheel well but can't I just bypass this by jumpering at the extra connection that used to connect to the automatic tranny?
If not, does anyone have a picture of the wires jumpered for this set up?

You would need to repin the C500 connector. On the auto the large yellow wire connects to the purple wire on the connector attached to the car. On the manual it is purple to purple.......Paul

I'm pretty sure I can help you but need more info. What engine are you changing to? Which transmission? Year of car?

Jumper the yellow and purple wire.
If you want back up lights, unless it's an 86 car that may have the plug in place, you need to wire them into the shifter switch.
I don't recall any re-pinning at C-500 to be necessary.

Hey Archie,
It's a straight 2.8 to 2.8 swap in an 85GT with a manual 4.10 tranny. I believe the donor car was a 86se auto.
