i have an 87 gt and would like to biuld up a 4.9 caddy on an 84 cradle...
i know the only difference between the 85-87 cradle and the 84 cradle are some holes for engine struts or something, but will these holes be used for the 4.9?
if not then the 84 cradle should work just fine right?

The only other difference between the 84's and the later ones it the mounting point for the rear toe links is different. Beginning in 85, they were lowered about 5mm to improve bumpsteer on the rear suspension. The cradle will bolt up and work and you probably won't notice any change.

the 84 K member didn't have the mounting tabs for a V6.

and the mounting points for the inner tie rod ends on 85 and up are lower for bump steer problems
