I have an 86' SE V6 with the stock 4 speed. My question is: What is the gear ratio on mine and what is so special about the 84' 4:10 4 speed? Is there more top speed to it, or does it have a closer gear ratio for faster accelleration?

Your gear ration is 3.65. The 4.10 Muncie has a lower top end speed, but it has more torque (acceleration).

Yes, yours is a 3.65. The highre the numerical ratio, the lower the speed at a given rpm, but the greater the torque multiplication and therefore the quicker the acceleration. There are other factors to consider but the 4.10 will make your car quicker at low speeds but buzzy at highway speeds.
