The only problem with keeping the Fiero trans is the lack of overdrive. If you spend much time on the highway, you may wish you had it.
The trans itself is more than up to the task.

We did, it worked fine. A bit tricky to get the TV cable adjusted to shift properly because you need so little throttle to accellerate and cruise.

The problem was exactly as mentioned above, no overdrive. On the highway with the a/c on at 90 mph we emptied the tank in 60 miles

OMG. That just ruled out ever using the TH125 for me. Thanks for the info. Man my Jaws on the ground.

IMO The Caddy trans is probably the best way to go if you are gonna use a automatic.

The 125 is a poor all around choice IMO. Whereas the Caddy trans is doing???? 1400-1500 RPMs at 60 mph. That almost like idling while moving at 60.
